What a day! You have taught me, guided me and instilled wisdom in me my entire life. You have been a wonderful father and I sincerely hope that I can be a good father as well to my kids. I hope that when my kids need me, I’m there for them as you have been for me all these years. I hope that when my kids have doubts that I’m there to squash them. Happy Father’s Day.
Feeding is such an essential activity for your baby, both physically and emotionally. It provides basic nourishment to ensure that she thrives and it also provides psychological comfort. You feel good inside when you see her take a “proper” feed. But the problem lies in not knowing when to stop, not (snowing how to ensure that your baby is not over-fed.
Because your three-month-old will probably drink every drop of milk she gets, and your one-year-old will most likely gulp down one bowl of cereal after the other without the slightest prompting. The tendency to put on weight is partly an inherited characteristic. Some babies put on more weight than others even though they eat approximately the same amount.
In many instances, obesity is simply due to over-feeding. Research also shows that adults who are fat were more likely to have been fat as babies, when compared to adults who are thin. And the habit of over-eating, which starts during babyhood, can be hard to break later on. Continue reading
My dad passed away and it’s almost 18 years now. Every year, whenever Father’s Day approaches, I tend to dismiss the feeling of despair by throwing myself into preparing a dinner for my husband. If cooking and baking is not your thing, then there are other ways in which you can express your love to the man of your life. Adds Jessica, ” We always try our best to make Chris feel like the most special dad in the world on Father’s day, and I make sure that both the kids and I are extra attentive to his needs, giving him little back massages from time to time. I can tell he enjoys it, from the huge, goofy grin that he wears on his face throughout the day!”
Father’s day is a beautiful day to celebrate the men in your life! Don’t be misled into thinking that you need to wait for this special day to show your appreciation; in fact, everyday can and should be a day of celebration!
Connie Parker, a full-time home tuition teacher, says, “Much as I thoroughly dislike soccer, I have a long standing agreement to sit through a whole soccer match with my hubby Mathew every Father’s day without attempting to switch the channel.
Needless to say, I tend to doze off halfway through the game every single year on his shoulder, but my hubby is happy as long as I am right by his side as he is doing his favorite activity. This year, I plan to drink an extra cup of coffee to try to actually stay awake for the whole game!”
